Begrudge Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
Begrudge is an iPhone app made by Shokhzodjon Tuyokov ("we"). It helps you start a task you have been avoiding, with a monster called Grudge. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it goes. Short version: there are no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and the things you type stay with you.
What stays with you
The tasks you name, whether you touched them, your wins and minutes, Grudge's plant, badges, story progress, the name you give Grudge, your tone and your settings are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is on, they also sync to your other devices through Apple's iCloud key-value storage, in your own iCloud account. We cannot see this data.
Anonymous usage analytics
We use TelemetryDeck to learn how the app is used, so we can make it better. It receives events such as which screen opened, how long a fight was set for, how a fight ended, and whether the paywall was shown or answered. It never receives the text of your tasks or the name you give Grudge. TelemetryDeck receives an anonymized identifier, not your name, email address or advertising identifier. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
Subscriptions
Purchases are made through Apple. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your trial or subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your App Store purchase records, an anonymous ID the app creates, and basic technical details such as the app version, iOS version and App Store country. We do not give RevenueCat your tasks, your name or your email address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Like any internet service, TelemetryDeck and RevenueCat see your device's IP address when the app connects to them.
Notifications and photos
- Notifications (for example, the end of a fight or the trial reminder) are scheduled on your iPhone. We do not run a notification server.
- If you save a share card, the app adds that one image to your Photos. It never reads your photo library.
What we do not do
- No account, sign-up or login.
- No advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share your data.
Children
Begrudge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone.
- To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Begrudge in the iOS Settings app.
- Because we do not collect your name or email address, we usually cannot link analytics or purchase records to you. If you write to us, we will help as far as we can, including with deletion requests.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
